Bayern Munich winger emerges as transfer target for Arsenal

It is going to be a pivotal summer transfer window for Bayern Munich. The German Champions are looking to strengthen the squad. Along with arrivals, there could be some big departures. Serge Gnabry is also one of the possible departures from Die Roten as he enters the final year of his contract.

Gnabry has been in contract talks with Die Roten since the start of the season. However, there has been no agreement, and talks have hit an impasse since Gnabry has not accepted or rejected the club’s latest offer. The Bavarian club could be forced to sell Serge Gnabry this summer if he is not signing the new contract.

Real Madrid has been heavily linked with Gnabry. The Spanish club is keenly following the situation of Gnabry. The Los Blancos reportedly wanted to sign Gnabry on a free transfer in 2023. After missing out on Kylian Mbappe, it remains to be seen if Real Madrid makes a move for Gnabry this summer.

Apart from Real Madrid, there is interest from Premier League in Gnabry. According to SportBild’s Christian Falk, Arsenal is keen on reuniting with Gnabry. A move this summer looks unlikely since Arsenal is in Europa League. However, the North London club will be open to signing him next summer.

Gnabry came through the ranks of Arsenal before moving to Werder Bremen in 2016. The German winger eventually earned a move to Bayern in 2017 after delivering good performances for Bremen. Gnabry has previously expressed affection for Arsenal, so it is not surprising to see him linked with a move to North London.

Since Gnabry is entering the prime of his career, Champions League football will be crucial if he decides to leave Bavaria. Arsenal has not played in Europe’s premier competition since 2017. If they fail to qualify for UCL next season, the North London side will find it difficult to compete with other top European clubs to sign Gnabry.

Serge Gnabry has been a pivotal player for Bayern in the past three seasons. He played a big role in the club’s Champions League victory in 2020. It will be a big blow to the club’s long and short-term plans if Gnabry ends up leaving Bavaria.
