The summer transfer window will see Bayern Munich actively listening to offers for various fringe players. The Bavarian club has to address numerous positions this summer, so getting funds from departures is crucial. It does look like Die Roten may negotiate with Eintracht Frankfurt for one of the departures from Bavaria this summer.

According to Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt is interested in signing Marc Roca from Bayern. The Europa League winners have already initiated talks with Roca’s agents. The Spanish midfielder is valued at €8 million by the German Champions. It remains to be seen whether Roca will be keen on staying in the Bundesliga.

Frankfurt will face competition for the signing of Roca. Real Betis and Barcelona have shown interest in the midfielder, while AS Roma has also shown interest in Roca. In an ideal scenario, Roca’s next destination will be decided before the start of the pre-season.

Marc Roca arrived at Bayern in the final of the summer transfer window 2020. The Spanish midfielder struggled for game time during his debut season. Hansi Flick rarely made changes to the starting XI, which made sure that Roca got very few starts throughout the campaign.

The arrival of Julian Nagelsmann was expected to change the fortunes of Roca as the German coach wanted to sign the midfielder at RB Leipzig. However, a serious injury just before the start of pre-season last year hampered Roca’s plans. He had worked hard during summer to be ready for the new season.

After recovering from the injury, Roca found it difficult to get playing time under Nagelsmann. He was expected to leave in the winter transfer window, but a few appearances at the end of Hinrunde convinced Roca to stay. The Spaniard delivered good performances in December when there was an injury crisis in the midfield department.

When the likes of Corentin Tolisso, Joshua Kimmich, and Leon Goretzka were fit in Ruckrunde, Roca’s playing time decreased. Nagelsmann is not against keeping the Spanish midfielder for next season, but he is unlikely to get consistent playing time. With the arrival of Ryan Gravenberch, Roca may not even make the matchday squad next season.

Marc Roca is now accustomed to the demands of the Bundesliga, so joining Frankfurt could be a good move for him. He will also get a chance to play in the Champions League since Frankfurt qualified for the competition after winning Europa League last week. The coming weeks could be crucial for Roca’s future as he looks destined for a summer departure from Bayern.
