Bayern Munich: Predicted XI in home clash against Gladbach

The winter break is over in Germany, and Bundesliga is set to return this weekend. Bayern Munich will be involved in the first matchday of Ruckrunde on Friday as they host Borussia Monchengladbach.

Die Roten enjoyed a very fruitful Hinrunde. The Bavarian club ended the year with two emphatic wins in the final week before the Christmas break. Courtesy of a fine run of the form in December, the Bavarian club opened a lead of nine points at the top of the points table. It will be very difficult for other clubs in the top four to close this gap and make it an interesting title race.

Meanwhile, Monchengladbach had a terrible end to 2021. They lost three games in December, which includes 6-0 and 4-1 defeats against Freiburg and RB Leipzig, respectively. Adolf Hutter’s men also conceded a late equaliser against Hoffenheim in the final game of the year.

Gladbach will be facing Die Roten on the back of their worst run of results this season. However, Gladbach did inflict the biggest defeat on Friday’s hosts when the two sides met in the second round of DFB Pokal earlier this season. Considering the coronavirus crisis in Bayern’s squad, it will be interesting to see which players start for the home side on Friday.
