The international break provides no respite to players as three games are planned over the course of the next seven days. Moreover, injuries to players are also a cause of concern for clubs. Bayern Munich has already suffered one blow as soon as the first international break started this week.

According to multiple reports in France on Wednesday, Corentin Tolisso has been ruled out of all three games for France due to a calf injury. The 27-year-old midfielder has been replaced by Matteo Guendouzi in the squad.

Tolisso has been very unfortunate with injuries in the last three seasons. Ever since the serious ligament injury in 2018, Tolisso has been frustrated with various injuries. He missed a big chunk of the second half of the last campaign due to injury.

The French midfielder’s injury was probably one of the big stumbling blocks for a transfer away from Bavaria in the summer. Die Roten was ready to listen to offers for Tolisso, but a transfer never materialized. He is likely to leave the club on a free transfer next summer.

Thomas Muller and Dayot Upamecano also suffer injury setbacks

Along with Tolisso, Dayot Upamecano has also returned to Sabner Strasse. The French defender is yet to recover from the knock that he suffered against Hertha Berlin last Saturday. Upamecano was replaced by Nianzou Kouassi at halftime in the 5-0 win against Hertha.

Thomas Muller has also been withdrawn from the German team due to an adductor injury. The veteran forward will complete recovery at Sabner Strasse in the next two weeks. Muller has started the new campaign strongly as he started all five games in August for Die Roten.

Meanwhile, new signing Marcel Sabitzer is also a doubt for Austria’s first two games of the international break. The 27-year-old midfielder was reportedly ruled out of Leipzig’s last game due to injury and his impending transfer to Die Roten.

It remains to be seen whether Tolisso, Muller, and Upamecano will be available for the Bundesliga game against RB Leipzig in a fortnight. Julian Nagelsmann will be hoping that there are no more injury problems during the remainder of the international break. Lucas Hernandez, Marc Roca, and Benjamin Pavard are likely to be available after the break as all three have been training on the pitch. The return of these three players will give Nagelsmann more options in midfield and defense.
