Bayern Munich Loan Watch: Jann-Fiete Arp scores for Holstein Kiel

In the latest loan watch, it was the turn of Jann Fiete Arp to shine. The young Bayern Munich forward is slowly showing signs of his quality at Holstein Kiel. In the last weekend before the international break, Arp took another step in the right direction.

The first goal for Jann-Fiete Arp in the 2.Bundesliga for Holstein Kiel came against Erzgebirge Aue on Saturday. After entering in the 25th minute, the Bayern Munich player on loan in the German second division scored in the 37th minute to give Kiel a 2-0 advantage.

The young German forward went on to register a total of five shots, four of which were on target, and one key pass. Kiel was victorious 3-0 as they won their first league match of the season.

Arp now has two goals in six appearances for Kiel in all competitions. His other goal was scored in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. Arp joins Sarpreet Singh, Joshua Zirkzee, and Alex Timossi Andersson as current Bayern players on loan who have scored two goals or more so far this season.

Other performances

Zirkzee was in the starting 11 and played the first half of Anderlecht’s 1-0 loss to Genk in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. He did not register a shot during his appearance.

Andersson played 86 minutes for Austra Klagenfurt in their 2-1 win over WSG Swarovski Tirol. The 20-year-old registered an assist in the 36th minute to increase his season total to three assists in six appearances.

Singh played 83 minutes in Jahn Regensburg’s 2-0 defeat to St. Pauli. The forward recorded two key passes and three tackles in the loss.

Lars Lukas Mai made a very brief appearance at the end of Werder Bremen’s 3-0 win over Hansa Rostock. He only had four touches of the ball after entering in the 90th minute.

Adrien Fein was in the matchday squad for Greuther Furth in their Bundesliga match against Mainz but he did not make an appearance off of the bench.

Alexander Nubel was in the net for Monaco as they defeated Troyes 2-1. The goalkeeper recorded three saves in his first victory in Ligue 1. In midweek action, Nubel was the starting goalkeeper in Monaco’s second leg fixture against Shakhtar Donetsk for a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Nubel did register one save but the match ended 2-2 which saw Shakhtar Donetsk progress to the Champions League. Monaco will now compete in the Europa League group stage which will at least allow Nubel to get experience playing in a European football competition.
