The final five days of the transfer window could see some crazy deals completed across Europe. Bayern Munich may not have a high-profile business to do, but they have a lot of business to do on departures and arrivals.

In terms of departures, numerous fringe players need to leave the club to get playing time. Chris Richards is one of the players in the current squad that wants to play regularly this season.

According to SportBild, Richards is still keen on joining Hoffenheim. The outlet insists that a contract extension at Die Roten with a loan move to Hoffenheim is the realistic possibility right now. Richards had spent the second half of last season at Hoffenheim, so moving back to the same club makes sense for the young defender.

Richards has made few appearances in the first team at Die Roten. However, he will find it very difficult to get consistent playing time next season since Rekordmeister has a lot of depth in the central defense.

More from Bayern Strikes

The young center-back has shown a lot of promise while playing for the reserves team. He also slotted in the right-back position for one odd game for the first team. His loan spell at Hoffenheim was very successful as he started the majority of league games during the second half of the season.

Extending his contract and sending him out on loan will also benefit Bayern in the long run. If the young defender impresses in the Bundesliga this season, then he can stake a claim for regular minutes with the first team in Bavaria. In another scenario, Rekordmeister can also get a very good fee for the young defender next summer when the market will be in a better situation.

The loan decisions at Die Roten have been questionable in the last couple of seasons. However, the club got it spot on with Richards. He has seamlessly settled at Hoffenheim and got considerable playing time in the Bundesliga.

Apart from Richards, the defending Bundesliga champions will be looking to sort departures of Mickael Cuisance. The Frenchman featured in the DFB Pokal clash against Bremer SV, but it is highly unlikely that he features in plans of Julian Nagelsmann for the entire campaign. Bouna Sarr was also on the list of possible departures, but he is reportedly reluctant to leave Bavaria. Meanwhile, Die Roten will be looking to seal a deal for Marcel Sabitzer from RB Leipzig to bolster midfielder before the end of the transfer window.
