With less than two weeks left for the deadline day, transfer speculation surrounding Bayern Munich is set to get intense. The German club is looking to make signings to improve the squad, provided players are available at the right price. Thilo Kehrer from Paris Saint-Germain is one of the few players that has been aggressively linked with a move to Bavaria.
According to L’Equipe (via GFFN), Die Roten has already reached an agreement with Kehrer for a three-year deal. The French media outlet also reports that Kehrer has rejected a proposal from Bayer Leverkusen as he wants to play in the Champions League next season.
Meanwhile, SportBild in Germany reported this week that Kehrer wants to stay at PSG after the arrival of PSG. The contradicting reports from Germany and France suggest that the coming two weeks could be a rollercoaster ride for the young defender.
This summer, Kehrer has been linked with a move back to the Bundesliga since PSG is looking to offload players to make space in the wage bill for new players. The German defender could see his playing time significantly reduced in Paris after the arrival of Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid.
FC Bayern is still looking for two new players if possible, but there is no sign of a quick transfer. The rumors about Kehrer are wrong, he is not about to move to Munich.

The 24-year-old German international can be deployed in the heart of the defense. He can also slot in the right-back position. After enjoying a good spell at Schalke, Kehrer was considered one of Germany’s biggest defensive prospects. However, his development has somewhat stalled after moving to PSG in 2018.
As of now, Kehrer has two years remaining on his current deal at PSG. After signing multiple stars on big wages this summer, the Ligue 1 club is looking to trim the wage bill by listening to offers for fringe players in the squad. Kehrer could end up leaving for less than half of €37 million PSG paid for him in 2018.
Kehrer should not be a priority for Bayern
It would be a huge surprise if Rekordmeister does end up signing Kehrer. Despite the departure of David Alaba and Jerome Boateng this summer, Die Roten has more than enough options in central defense. In the form of Lucas Hernandez, Nianzou Kouassi, Niklas Sule, and Dayot Upamecano, they have a strong group of center-backs. Moreover, Benjamin Pavard can also play in the heart of the defense.
Josip Stanisic has shown enough in pre-season and the first two competitive games of the season to be an option in the right-back department. Pavard and Bouna Sarr are other options in this position. With the transfer budget slashed due to the effects of the pandemic, spending a decent fee on Kehrer will make no sense for Rekordmeister.
