Bayern Munich finds solution for right-back position
Before the start of the Bundesliga campaign last week, Bayern Munich suffered an injury blow as Benjamin Pavard was ruled out for weeks due to injury. The French defender suffered the injury in training before last Friday’s opening game against Borussia Monchengladbach.
The injury to Pavard further highlighted the addition of right-back before the end of the transfer window. However, the latest update from Germany suggests that Die Roten is moving towards looking for an internal solution to address this position.
According to Kicker, the defending champions will be relying on Josip Stanisic to provide more competition in the right-back position. The young defender from the academy has been added to the first-team squad and started the game against Gladbach at Borussia Park on Friday.
Julian Nagelsmann spoke brightly about Stanisic’s performance against Gladbach. The German defender is reportedly one of the four young players from the academy that shone for Die Roten during pre-season training.

With Pavard out for a while, Stanisic is likely to get more opportunities in the first team. The youngster should be in line to start against Borussia Dortmund in DFL Super Cup on Tuesday. Stanisic has the chance of establishing himself as a first-team player in the next few weeks.
Despite Die Roten shelving the plans to sign a right-back, it is not good news for Bouna Sarr. The French defender has fallen further down the pecking order with the emergence of Stanisic. Sarr came on to replace the youngster during the game against Gladbach on Friday. It will take a massive turn of events for Sarr to have a long-term future in Bavaria. The German media has widely reported that Die Roten is ready to listen to offers for the French defender.
Apart from Stanisic, Christopher Scott was also reportedly a candidate for the right-back spot in the first team. Scott may end up getting opportunities in this role later this season. Nagelsmann has managed to get the best out of young players in his previous roles, which makes the news of more chances for Stanisic even more exciting.
After finding an internal solution for the right-back position, Rekordmeister will be looking to complete the signings of Amine Adli and Marcel Sabitzer before the end of the window. The German Champions are reportedly working on deals for both players. However, they will have to make space for new arrivals by getting adequate offers for fringe players.
