With senior players returning for training, there will be transfer activity at Bayern Munich in terms of departures. The German Champions will be looking to move on fringe players, while loan deals are likely to be sorted for young players.

Joshua Zirkzee belongs to the group of players that will have to leave Bavaria to get consistent playing time next season. According to Fabrizio Romano, Zirkzee could head back to Serie A as Hellas Verona is interested in the Dutch striker. Apart from Verona, there is also interest from Anderlecht in Zirkzee.

The Dutch striker was playing in Serie A with Parma during the second half of the last campaign. However, he struggled to get adequate playing time, and his season was cut short due to an injury. Zirkzee reported for pre-season at Bayern as Parma didn’t take up the option to make the transfer permanent.

Die Roten is reportedly ready to cash in for Zirkzee as he is amongst five players that have been transfer-listed. Earlier this summer, the young forward was also linked with a move to FC Basel. As the window progresses, more clubs are likely to come into the picture for the young forward.

More from Bayern Strikes

Joshua Zirkzee currently doesn’t feature in Die Roten’s plans due to the presence of Robert Lewandowski in the squad. Meanwhile, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will act as backup for the Polish striker. Zirkzee will have to leave the club for getting consistent playing time. Since selling players is difficult in the current transfer market, Die Roten may be open to a loan with the option to buy.

It is a shame that Zirkzee has struggled to build on to the strong debut season in 2019/20. The Dutchman scored crucial goals for Die Roten during the campaign. He was exclusively used as a backup striker. The transfer arrivals and his poor form limited his chances of playing regularly in the first half of last season.

Joshua Zirkzee was at the end of immense scrutiny last weekend after missing a sitter against Ajax. The Dutch striker needs to get back his confidence. The best possible way of achieving this confidence is by going out on a loan and getting consistent playing time.

The German Champions have already loaned out Adrian Fein, Lukas Mai, and Sarpreet Singh. More young players will be going out on loan in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, senior players such as Bouna Sarr and Corentin Tolisso are also facing uncertain futures at the club.
