Bayern Munich will be soon welcoming back the majority of senior players for the pre-season training. The first couple of pre-season friendlies have not yielded victories, but the young players from the academy have delivered promising performances. Some of these young players could be involved in the first-team squad for next season.

According to Kicker (via iMiaSanMia), Julian Nagelsmann was impressed with four young players featured against FC Koln and Ajax. As per this report, the four players are Josip Stanisic, Armindo Sieb, Christopher Scott and Torben Rhein. Depending on the outcome of the remaining weeks of the transfer window, these four players are likely to get chances with the first team.

Sieb had opened the scoring against FC Koln in the first pre-season friendly. The young German forward looked lively in both games. Bayern Munich had signed Sieb from Hoffenheim in 2020 after he impressed at the youth levels. It will be a big step up for the teenager next season if Nagelsmann includes him in the first team.

Rhein and Stanisic featured in the midfield for Bayern in the two friendly games. The young midfielders did fairly well in both games, with Rhein grabbing an assist for the team’s second goal against Ajax. Both players have been highly rated at the club, so it will not be surprising to see them in the first team at some point next season.

More from Bayern Strikes

The German club is reportedly looking to improve midfield options in the summer. Corentin Tolisso is likely to leave the club, while Marc Roca has been ruled out for six weeks due to injury. If Die Roten doesn’t sign a new midfielder, then Rhein and Stanisic could get chances in the first team much earlier than their expectations.

Meanwhile, the reports in Germany this summer have been suggesting that Christopher Scott could be the wildcard option for the right-back position at Die Roten next season. The German Champions want to add quality in this position, but the restricted transfer budget might allow Scott to get chances in the first team due to the pandemic.

Scott is primarily a midfielder, but reports in Germany have suggested that Nagelsmann could use him in the right-back position. The German manager had done a similar positional switch with Tyler Adams at RB Leipzig.

Nagelsmann has a good history of improving young players, so the report from Kicker is exciting for the Bavarian faithful. Even if these players end up making 15 appearances for the first team next season, it would be a big step in their development.
