The last couple of days have been difficult for Bayern Munich players as France and Germany were knocked out of Euro 2020. Thomas Muller was one of the most frustrated and disappointed players after Germany lost against England at Wembley. The German forward was devastated after missing the golden opportunity that to score the equalizer, few minutes after England had taken the lead.

Muller posted a heartfelt message on social media platforms on Wednesday after reflecting on the loss against England. It will be a bitter pill to swallow for him. However, Muller is one of the few players that can very well bounce back from such devastating setbacks.

The German forward has responded to failure brilliantly in the last two seasons. After contemplating a move away from Bavaria in 2019 due to lack of playing time, Muller went on to become one of the most creative forwards in Europe.

Muller repaid the faith shown by Hansi Flick by delivering two top-class seasons, which saw him breaking the Bundesliga record for assists in a single season. After the departure of Pep Guardiola in 2016, Muller has been on a downward curve. However, in the last two seasons, he has shown that he has the mental fortitude to mount come-backs.

The 31-year-old forward was also axed from the German squad two years ago, but his performances at the club level forced Joachim Low to bring him back in the squad for Euro 2020. Even though Muller didn’t score or assist, he was a key player for Germany in group stages.

All German players have been glowingly speaking about Muller being the coach on the pitch due to his brilliant game awareness. The miss against England will hurt, and probably the only thing remembered about Muller’s Euro 2020 campaign. Muller will be well up for it in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup to get things right.

As of now, Muller will get much-needed rest after the draining campaign. He played most of the games for Rekordmeister. The German forward is likely to report for the pre-season training at the end of July.

Die Roten will have no players in the further rounds of Euro 2020. Julian Nagelsmann will have a considerable squad reporting for pre-season training in July. The Bavarian faithful will be hoping that the disappointment of Euro 2020 will fuel the hunger in players to bounce back strongly next season.
