Earlier this month, Sergio Ramos confirmed that he will be leaving Real Madrid after 16 years once his contract expires at the end of June. Despite being 35, Ramos will not be short of offers. The Spaniard will be linked with top clubs in Europe, including Bayern Munich.
According to ESPN, Bayern has also made an offer to Ramos. The German Champions are facing competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City for the veteran Spanish defender. This report insists that Die Roten wants to sign Ramos to add experience in the center-back position after the departure of Jerome Boateng and David Alaba. Another option in the center-back position that left the club this summer is Javi Martinez.
Ramos will command significant wages and a two-year-long contract. It will be strange for Die Roten to be firm about wage structure and then end up paying a big salary package to Ramos. However, there is no doubt that Ramos will bring enormous experience to the young set of central defenders at the club.
Apart from the complete big wage package of Ramos, his fitness record in the last 12 months has been poor. He managed to play single-digit games for Real Madrid in 2021, which eventually forced Luis Enrique to drop him from the Spanish squad for Euro 2020.

Die Roten has already completed the signing of Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig for close to €40 million. The French defender is likely to be the most expensive transfer for the German Champions this summer. Along with Upamecano, Nianzou Kouassi will also be like a new signing after missing the majority of his debut campaign due to injuries.
Lucas Hernandez will be playing in the heart of defense next season. He will be the left-footed center-back in the system. Benjamin Pavard and Niklas Sule are other options in central defense. There is uncertainty surrounding the future of Sule. In case the German defender leaves this summer, then Die Roten may move for a new center-back.
Apart from these senior center-back options, Die Roten will also have Chris Richards and Lukas Mai returning from productive loan spells. Julian Nagelsmann may make a decision on their future after the pre-season training camp.
Despite all permutations and combinations, it still looks very difficult to see Rekordmeister making a move for another center-back this summer. Ramos has been a tremendous player for Real Madrid and Spain, but currently, the cons outweigh over pros while signing him.
