Bayern Munich has been focussing on signing more younger players in the last few seasons. However, all young players have not been an outstanding success at the club. Jann-Fiete Arp sits in the group of players that have been unfortunate since moving to Bavaria.

The young forward could now leave Die Roten this summer to kick start his career. According to Sport1’s Florian Plettenberg, 2.Bundesliga side Holstein Kiel has opened talks to sign Arp. However, Arp’s entourage is also listening to other offers.

Meanwhile, Kicker is reporting that Hannover is interested in signing Arp. For any interested club, the wages of Arp are going to be a big stumbling block in completing the transfer. Rekordmeister would have to send him out on loan and pay a big chunk of his wages.

Die Roten was heavily linked with Arp in 2018, but the move didn’t materialise. The young German forward eventually sealed the move in 2019. Arp reportedly got a wage packet of €5 million/ per year in Bavaria. The German forward went on to the pre-season tour with the first team under Niko Kovac.

More from Bayern Strikes

After coming back from the pre-season tour, Arp got injured and stayed on the sidelines for a long time. He couldn’t make it into the first team squads under Hansi Flick. Arp got much-needed game time with the reserves team, but he struggled to impress during his spell with the reserves team.

Ideally, a change of manager gives a clean slate to all players. However, the arrival of Julian Nagelsmann is hardly going to make an impact on Arp’s chances in the first team. There are too many players preferred ahead of him in attacking positions. It will be a big surprise if he starts training with the first team during pre-season.

Arp needs a change of scenery to kickstart his career. He was once considered one of the brightest talents in German football. The move to Bavaria, in hindsight, came too early for him. The German forward should look to get the next move right in order to consistently play football at the senior level.

Next. Bayern need to make concrete decisions on two players. dark

Rekordmeister will have to either pay Arp off this summer or give him a second chance by sorting a loan transfer. The ideal outcome of the loan spell will help Die Roten to get a decent transfer fee next year. Nevertheless, it does look like that the German forward’s short stay at the club is going to end in the coming weeks.
