After the end of the domestic campaign, the majority of Bayern Munich players turn their attention towards Euro 2020. The German contingent will have more representatives this summer after Thomas Muller was recalled to the squad for the first time since 2018.
With all German players reporting at Germany’s training camp, there are doubts over the fitness of Leon Goretzka and Niklas Sule for the first game against France on June 16. The German duo is yet to completely train with the squad.
Sule was spotted in training with other German players on Saturday. However, Joachim Low has confirmed that he is not completely ready to train with the squad. The German defender has been put on a special individual training schedule to get complete fitness. After the Bundesliga campaign ended last weekend, Sule was spotted training at Sabner Strasse to improve fitness before joining German camp.
Meanwhile, Goretzka is yet to join the German squad. The 26-year-old midfielder has missed the last few games of the Bundesliga campaign due to a muscle injury. However, there is no concern as of now for him to miss Euros.

Joachim Low confirmed in the press conference that Goretzka will join the squad on Tuesday. He confirmed that Goretzka has been training at home. The German central midfielder will have individual sessions when he reports at training camp before joining other teammates on the pitch.
Low will be hoping that Goretzka makes it for the game against France. There is an ample amount of depth in central defense to offset the absence of Sule. However, there is no direct replacement for Goretzka in the squad. He has become a much more rounded midfielder under Hansi Flick in the last 12 months.
Apart from Goretzka and Sule, Germany is also waiting to hear positive news regarding Toni Kroos. The experienced midfielder has been tested positive for covid-19, so it remains to be seen whether he will be fit for the first game in Euro 2020.
The key personnel in attack and midfield for Germany is going to be from Bayern. Leroy Sane was unlucky to miss out on the squad during the 2018 World Cup. However, Euro 2020 is set perfectly for him and Serge Gnabry to lead the attack. Meanwhile, Thomas Muller will be playing in his usual number ten role with Joshua Kimmich is likely to partner with one of Kroos or Goretzka. Since this group of players has played together for such a long time, Low will be hoping for a similar chemistry click in his last big tournament as German manager.
