Bayern Munich host Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Allianz Arena on Saturday. This match will offer the defending champions another opportunity to retain the 2020/21 Bundesliga title. A victory will clinch first place for Die Roten who currently leads the German top flight by seven points.
The visitors can certainly make this task difficult for Rekordmeister as they have already defeated the league leaders this season. Mönchengladbach mounted a successful comeback to defeat Die Roten 3-2 in January. Here are three things to watch for ahead of Saturday’s match.
Title within reach
The title scenarios are certainly interesting entering Matchday 32. As mentioned, Bayern can clinch the title with a victory on Saturday against Mönchengladbach. However, the title could potentially already be decided by the time the two clubs kick-off. Second place RB Leipzig has to play Borussia Dortmund earlier in the day and if Leipzig loses then there’s no way for them to catch Bayern.
This scenario could very well occur as Dortmund defeated Leipzig when the clubs first met earlier this season. If that match ends in a draw then all Bayern would need is a point against Mönchengladbach to clinch the title. With different scenarios possible in the title race, the match between Dortmund and Leipzig before Bayern and Mönchengladbach kick-off will be a must-watch fixture.

Robert Lewandowski looks to move close to Bundesliga record
After scoring a last-minute goal against Mainz, there is still hope that Lewandowski can break Gerd Muller’s single-season goal-scoring record of 40 goals. The Bayern striker needs just five more goals to set the record as his current tally stands at 36 goals.
Lewandowski did score a goal against Mönchengladbach when the two clubs first met in January. However, this time around he will likely need to score more than one goal in order to continue his quest to break the record. Hopefully, there’s a multi-goal performance ahead for Lewandowski on Saturday.
Can Bayern remain undefeated at home?
The Allianz Arena has not been an easy place to win for opposing Bundesliga clubs. Rekordmeister is yet to lose a match at home in the German top flight this season. With only two fixtures remaining at the Allianz Arena this season, they are nearing an undefeated record at home in the Bundesliga for the first time since the 2016/17 campaign.
They will put this impressive record to the test on Saturday as Mönchengladbach look to spoil the party. The visitors have won in two of their last six league visits to Munich. Ever since Marco Rose was announced as the next Dortmund manager, Gladbach has seen a downturn in form. Die Roten should be favourites to win on Saturday and maintain unbeaten run intact in Munich.
