The final month of the 2020/21 season is set to begin for Bayern Munich. It has been an interesting campaign that has presented many challenges for Die Roten but they still remain in a position to claim a ninth consecutive Bundesliga title.

With just three league fixtures remaining on the season schedule, Bayern players will be looking for a strong finish to the campaign. The first game will be much more crucial as a victory against Borussia Monchengladbach will seal the title. Ahead of the final month of the season, here are the top three players to watch out for.

Jamal Musiala

April saw multiple great performances from Bayern’s rising star. Musiala scored three goals in five Bundesliga appearances which included his first two-goal performance in the German top flight in a 3-2 win over Wolfsburg.

Entering May, the 18-year-old is showing great form and there should more opportunities to add to his season total of six goals in the Bundesliga. Currently, he ranks fourth on the team in goals scored in the Bundesliga, and to finish as a top-five scorer in his first full season with the first team would be an impressive accomplishment.

More from Bayern Strikes

Robert Lewandowski

Lewandowski needs to score five goals in the final three matches to break Gerd Muller’s record of most goals scored in a single Bundesliga season. This will be a difficult task to complete but the Bayern striker has produced many memorable multi-goal performances throughout his career. For this reason, it’s not entirely out of the question that Lewandowski could still break the record. If he can produce a hat-trick against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Matchday 32 then the record could be set either before or on the final matchday of the season.

Even if he comes up short but still registers 40 goals this season, it will be an incredible accomplishment by Bayern’s star striker. It appears no other player in Europe’s top leagues will come close to the goal output Lewandowski has produced. The European Golden Boot is well within reach and another Torjägerkanone is all but secured.

Leroy Sane

After registering no goals or assists during April, Sane will be looking for a much better month ahead to conclude the season. His goal drought in the Bundesliga is now approaching four months and he could really use a goal during May.

As a result, Sane will be one of the Bayern players to watch for as a strong finish to the campaign would be a great way to end his first year with the club after struggling for the last few months to score. The winger certainly has the capability to score goals on a consistent basis and his offensive ability can only help Die Roten.
