The appointment of Julian Nagelsmann as Bayern Munich manager earlier this week meant that various RB Leipzig played will be linked with a move to Bavaria. The first player to get linked with Die Roten is Emil Forsberg.
According to TZ (via Aftonbladet), Forsberg could be a player of interest for Die Roten during the summer window. The Swede will have only one year left on his deal, so RB Leipzig might be open to listening to offers for him.
Forsberg is a versatile attacking player. He can be deployed on either flank and also used as a number ten. For a couple of years after Leipzig was promoted to the Bundesliga, Forsberg was a key player. In the last two seasons, he has become a squad player in a talented Leipzig team.
The Swede has still managed to post interesting numbers in the Bundesliga this season. In 26 appearances for Leipzig, Forsberg has managed to score seven goals and set up three goals for his teammates. At the age of 29, there are at least a couple of years left for Forsberg in the peak of his career. (Stats courtesy: Whoscored)

Leipzig may demand a marginal fee for Sweden international due to his contract situation. Forsberg could fill the role of the fourth wide player in the squad. Douglas Costa was bought on loan to fill this position in the 2020/21 campaign, but the Brazilian winger failed to impress. He will be going back to Juventus in the summer.
Since Forsberg has already played under Nagelsmann for the past two seasons, he will need no time to adapt at Die Roten. It could be a shrewd move from Rekordmeister to improve the quality of the squad, but Leipzig will be eager to see Forsberg move away from Bundesliga instead of joining one of their rivals.
It could be a shrewd signing to improve the depth of the squad for next season. He could deputize Thomas Muller or operate on the flanks. However, the emergence of Jamal Musiala might force the club to not spend money on yet another wide forward. The arrival of Forsberg may reduce playing time for Musiala. It will be a big surprise if this move materialises.
Die Roten has already clinched one signing from RB Leipzig for next season. Before appointing Nagelsmann, the defending Bundesliga champions agreed personal terms with Dayot Upamecano. Rekordmeister will activate his release clause once the transfer window opens in the summer.
