It has been an eventful week for Bayern Munich. The defending Bundesliga champions announced on Monday that Hansi Flick will be leaving in the summer. The German manager had publicly announced his request to part ways with the club after the win against Wolfsburg earlier this month.
Rekordmeister has granted Flick’s wish by terminating his deal. Flick is now open to negotiating with DFB. He is reportedly lined up as a replacement for Joachim Low after Euros 2020. Low will be ending his long spell as German national team coach that also included winning World Cup in 2014.
Die Roten has quickly addressed the situation by sorting a replacement for Flick. They negotiated a compensation package with RB Leipzig for Julian Nagelsmann. Bayern will reportedly pay a world-record fee for Nagelsmann. The young German manager is expected to sign a five-year deal with the club.
Nagelsmann’s arrival has brought excitement amongst Bavarian faithful due to his good work at Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig. While talking to SportBild (via Goal), Robert Lewandowski admitted that he is looking forward to working with the young German manager.
"“I don’t know Julian Nagelsmann well, but what I can say is that he always manages to raise teams to a level that you don’t imagine.”“The performance of Nagelsmann’s teams is mostly above expectations, it’s about more than the quality of a single player.”"

Die Roten has been consistently linked with Nagelsmann ever since he came into the limelight after his work at Hoffenheim. After missing out on the likes of Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel, Rekordmeister was not in a mood to miss out on Nagelsmann. They eventually ended up paying a record fee for him.
Nagelsmann managed to take Hoffenheim in European competitions during his stay at the club. After moving RB Leipzig, Nagelsmann managed to take them to the Champions League semi-final last season. Leipzig also got out of the group of death this season which involved Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
Along with getting big results, Nagelsmann also gets his team to play an attractive style of football. He has been tactically flexible at his previous clubs, which helps them to adapt according to the opposition. It is going to be fascinating to see how his tactical frameworks work with some of the best players in Europe.
Nagelsmann has also a good record of improving players. Lewandowski is currently the best striker in Europe. He is already scoring at an insane rate, so it will be intriguing to see how the Polish striker gets better under the young German manager. Nagelsmann is likely to be unveiled as the new manager in June when the club starts preparations for 2021/22 season. His first competitive game for Die Roten will be DFL Supercup.
