Bayern Munich needs to make few decisions regarding the goalkeeping department. There is also a slight chance of upheaval in the department during the summer window. Once the season comes to an end next month, Die Roten will make the final call as Alexander Nubel has made his intentions clear.

According to Kicker, Nubel wants assurances of a decent amount of playing time next season. In case the club cannot promise more game time, Nubel wants to go out on loan for two years. The German goalkeeper has struggled to get enough minutes on the pitch ever since joining the club from Schalke last summer.

Marseille, Borussia Dortmund, and Monaco have been credited with an interest in Nubel by German media. The new report from Kicker is suggesting that RB Leipzig is also in the mix. The German champions have recently done business with Leipzig for defender Dayot Upamecano and manager Julian Nagelsmann.

Alexander Nubel is considered the next big goalkeeping talent in Germany. He angered Schalke fans by not signing a new deal. Schalke’s loss was Die Roten’s gain as the club moved quickly and clinched his signing in January last year.

However, this transfer has not gone according to plan for Nubel. It was always bound to be a difficult debut season since Nubel has to compete with the best goalkeeper in the world. Manuel Neuer has been in sublime form this season, so benching him has never been an option for Hansi Flick.

Alexander Nubel did make his debut this season, but he cannot afford to have another season warming the bench. Die Roten will have to either give him game time in cup competitions or allocate a certain number of league games next year. He is definitely learning a lot by training with Neuer, but he needs more minutes on the pitch to take the next step in his development.

If Die Roten cannot give assurances, then loaning him out would be the best option. Sending him out on loan to Dortmund and Leipzig will be a good move if he gets to play consistently. Monaco is also a good destination since the French club will be playing in the Champions League next season. As things stand, a loan move does look certain. Rekordmeister will have to bring a replacement for him as Stefan Ortega has been linked with the club.

Kicker has also confirmed that Bayern has taken the option to extend Ron-Thorben Hoffman’s contract by a year. The young goalkeeper is likely to leave in the summer. The contract extension will mean that Rekordmeister will be getting a fee.
