Bayern Munich will continue to make changes in the defense for next season. The German Champions started the process of rebuilding the defensive personnel two summers ago. A couple of steps have already been taken for next season. One player that could be on his way out is Bouna Sarr.
According to Sport1, Die Roten is ready to listen to offers for Sarr in the summer window. This report insists that Sarr’s entourage will soon hold talks with the German club regarding his future at the club. Since his contract expires in 2024, Die Roten will be looking to get a decent fee for him.
After missing out on Sergino Dest last summer, Bayern made a late dash to sign Bouna Sarr from Marseille. However, the move has not as per plan for both parties. The French defender has struggled with injuries and form throughout his debut season.
Throughout the season, Sarr has made only 14 appearances across all competitions. He has managed only nine starts for Die Roten this season. On few occasions, Joshua Kimmich has been preferred in the right-back position to fill in for Benjamin Pavard even though Sarr was brought in to execute this role. (Stats courtesy: Whoscored)

There could have been a reason for sticking with Sarr next season if he was a young prospect. Since he will be turning 29, then the club is well within their rights to cash in if they feel Sarr is not able to meet expectations on the pitch.
Flick has been reluctant to use Sarr whenever he has been fit. Sport1 also hinted that the arrival of a new coach will also have a big say in the decision regarding Sarr. If the new manager wants to keep the French defender, then there is a good chance that the summer move will not be on the agenda, provided Sarr is ready to fight for a place in the team.
In case Sarr ends up leaving in the summer, Die Roten will have to make a decision regarding a backup right-back. Either they stick with Kimmich as the backup option since they will be adding a midfielder in the summer, or Chris Richards becomes an option after his good loan spell at Hoffenheim. Richards played in this position for a couple of games in the first half of the season.
Bayern is tight regarding the budget for the summer window after spending big money on RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano. In such a scenario, cashing in for Sarr could help them to reinvest money in other areas. It does feel like the club would break even with fee they paid for Sarr last summer.
