The goalkeeper department at Bayern Munich could see one change during the summer transfer window. Manuel Neuer is definitely staying and starting as number one goalkeeper at the club next season. In such a scenario, Alexander Nubel could go out on loan to get consistent playing time.
Nubel’s agent had recently revealed that the first season at Die Roten was planned when he arrived in Bavaria last summer. However, the German goalkeeper cannot have another season where he gets limited playing time. Nubel’s immediate future is likely to be decided at the end of the season.
According to Sport1’s Florian Plettenberg, Marseille has joined the race to sign Nubel on a loan deal. Marseille is the second French club to be linked with Nubel. It has been widely reported that Monaco is keen on signing the young German goalkeeper. Plettenberg also reports that Monaco is leading the race, while Borussia Dortmund is following Nubel.
Rekordmeister is going to talk with Marseille in the summer regarding Mickael Cuisance. The French midfielder wants to stay in Marseille, but his loan deal ends in the summer. Marseille does have a fixed option to buy Cuisance. Both clubs may talk about Nubel if the reported interest is concrete from the French club.

Monaco would be a more exciting prospect for the young goalkeeper. The French club is flourishing under former Bayern manager Niko Kovac. Moreover, they are likely to play in the Champions League next season. Playing in the best European competition will benefit Nubel’s development.
Meanwhile, Die Roten may have to look for a temporary solution for a backup goalkeeping option if Nubel goes out on loan.
Arminia Bielefeld’s Stefan Ortega has been linked with a move to Bavaria in the last couple of months. Ortega has been delivering impressive performances for Bielefeld this season.
Since finances are going to be tight in summer for Die Roten, the last thing they would want is to spend money on a goalkeeper. The German Champions have spent a big fee on Dayot Upamecano and reportedly clinched the signing of Omar Richards from Reading on a free transfer. Bayern is reportedly looking to sign four players during the summer transfer window, which is unlikely involves a goalkeeper.
Nubel surely needs more playing time next season. Rekordmeister needs to either send him out on loan or give him consistent playing time next season. It is a tricky situation for the club as Neuer is delivering world-class performance. A big decision regarding Nubel awaits the club’s hierarchy in June.
