Bayern Munich players continue to enjoy a productive international break. In their second game of the break, Die Roten’s German players enjoyed a good outing against Romania. Serge Gnabry was the star of the for Joachim Low’s team as they clinched a narrow 1-0 victory.

Gnabry opened the scoring for Germany against Romania in the 17th minute. The 25-year-old winger showed predator’s instinct through the middle to finish off a great move started by Antonio Rudiger. Chelsea’s center-back found the run of Kai Havertz on the right flank. Havertz squared the ball to Gnabry in the middle to give Germany a much-needed lead.

In German colours, Gnabry has a slightly different role. Low uses him as a false nine in the attack. He often dropped in pockets to help the buildup play but also showed enough willingness to make the darting runs in the box when Germany was holding the width.

Gnabry has been enjoying a good run of form with Die Roten in the last few weeks. It was crucial for him to maintain this momentum during the international break. Going into the final two months of the season, an in-form Gnabry will give Rekordmeister more avenues for goals on the pitch.

More from Bayern Strikes

Along with Gnabry, there were other good performances from Bayern players for Germany. Joshua Kimmich started in the center of the park along with Leon Goretzka. The former helped the team to push high up the pitch by keeping his passing efficient, while the latter kept it ticking in the midfield.

Kimmich was also delivering crosses from a deeper position, attempting two accurate crosses from eight attempts. He also managed to play one key pass in the game. Goretzka’s fitness was a concern for this game, but he recovered in time to start the game. He managed to provide solidity in the center of the field in a much more conservative role.

Leroy Sane started on the left-flank for Germany. He was the most threatening wide player for Germany. Sane played three key passes and attempted seven dribbles while stretching Romania’s defense. He also had two shots on target during the game. Sane has been steadily getting back to his best for Bayern, and it was clearly evident against Romania that his confidence levels are up.
