Bayern Munich tracking progress of young Bundesliga winger
Bayern Munich tried to improve attacking positions last summer by bringing in Leroy Sane. They wanted to sign another wide player as Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Perisic had left the club once their loan deals ended. The German Champions did try to sign the Croatian winger permanently, but they couldn’t agree to a transfer fee with Inter Milan.
Die Roten might need another traditional winger this summer since last summer’s arrival Douglas Costa will be returning to Juventus. The Brazilian winger has failed to impress this season, and his loan deal had no option to make this transfer permanent. In such a scenario, a new wide player could be in the club’s thoughts.
According to AS, Bayern is one of the numerous top clubs that is closely watching the progress of Moussa Diaby. The young French winger has impressed for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga during the last two seasons after arriving from Paris Saint-Germain.
This report does insist that Leverkusen will be looking at an excess of €40 million for the young winger. It is likely that Die Roten might be interested in the young winger, but a move this summer would be highly unlikely due to the big fee that he will command.

In terms of a wide player, Rekordmeister would be looking for someone that will provide cover and experience. Most importantly, his wages and transfer fee will be as minimal as possible. Rekordmeister has faced the brunt of the pandemic on the club’s finances.
It is also possible that they ignore the wide position if a suitable option doesn’t pop up in the market. Moreover, the emergence of Jamal Musiala could also make the club rethink their strategy in this position. The German teenager can play is at his best in central positions, but he can do a fairly good job in wider positions.
Along with Musiala, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will also be an option in this position next season. The Cameroonian forward has reportedly impressed the coaches and club hierarchy in training, prompting them to extend his stay beyond this season.
Diaby is an exciting young attacking talent, one that can surely improve Die Roten’s attack. However, the club finances have been badly affected due to the pandemic, so spending a big fee on him this summer is a long shot. If he continues to improve for Leverkusen, then Rekordmeister may make a move for him in the future.
