Hansi Flick set to stay at Bayern Munich next season
The last couple of weeks has seen a lot of speculation surrounding the future of Hansi Flick at Bayern Munich. The speculation has nothing to do with his work at the club since he has been consistently getting good results in the last 18 months. The rumours have been largely linking him to the role of manager at the German National team after Euros as Joachim Low decides to part ways with DFB in the summer.
Flick has been reportedly considered as the prime target for this role due to his body of work with Die Roten and links with DFB in the past. He was part of the backroom staff at DFB that went on to win the World Cup in 2014.
DFB has made it clear that they will not be approaching a manager with a long contract at a club. If they eventually do, it will be with the blessing from the club. If DFB continues to satisfy this condition, then Die Roten doesn’t need to worry.
Oliver Kahn had previously poured cold water to reports linking Flick away from Die Roten. While speaking to Welt this weekend, Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed that Flick will be staying at the club next season. He insisted that there is absolutely no chance that he will be leaving in the summer.
"“I told him (Flick) we are very happy with him. We are well-advised to finish what we have contractually agreed. I clearly communicated that to Hansi.”"

Rummenigge also confirmed that DFB had contacted the club to assure them that there will be no negotiations with Flick for the vacant coaching role at the national team. These assuring statements from Rummenigge will be a big sigh of relief for the Bavarian faithful since Flick has been doing brilliantly as Die Roten’s manager.
Flick’s position at Die Roten has also been under doubt due to reported friction between him and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. The German manager confirmed this week that everything is sorted between the duo. Rummenigge also assured that there is no tension between Brazzo and Flick.
The clear dismissal of speculation from Rummenigge and Kahn bodes well for Die Roten. The team is entering a crucial stage of the season as they are looking to retain the Bundesliga and Champions League. With some difficult games on the horizon, speculation around the manager’s position is the last thing the team needs.
Hansi Flick has been churning out good results in the last couple of months. The German manager will get some time to plan for the last two months of the season during the international in the next two weeks. Die Roten remains at the top of the Bundesliga, and a quarter-final tie against Paris Saint-Germain awaits them in Europe.
