After more than four months of non-stop club football, the final international break of the season begins next week. The pandemic is yet to ease across Europe despite strong vaccination drives, so some of the international teams might have to do without key players during this break due to strict quarantine rules of different countries. Bayern Munich will have numerous players featuring for their national teams during this break.

Robert Lewandowski and David Alaba had been called up for Poland and Austria, respectively. However, there were concerns over their participation in the games since they will have to go undergo quarantine after returning to Bavaria. Poland will be facing Hungary, Andorra, and England during this break, while Austria will come up against Scotland, Faroe Islands, and Denmark.

The two senior players of the squad undergoing quarantine after the international break would have seen them missing crucial European and Bundesliga games. Die Roten is completely against this outcome, but a solution has been found for both players.

While talking to media after the win against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday, Hansi Flick confirmed that Alaba and Lewandowski had got the green light to play during the international break. Both players will certainly be available for selection immediately after the break, provided they are fit.

More from Bayern Strikes

In an ideal scenario, Rekordmeister would have preferred Alaba and Lewandowski staying in Munich during the break. Both players are very essential for the team, so getting them much-needed rest during this break would have helped in the final phase of the season.

It has been a long and congested season until now. Die Roten has been playing a game every three days for most of the season. Moreover, they also went to Qatar in February for the Club World Cup. In such a unique season, having three international games cramped up in ten days hardly does any favour to the fitness of players.

Nevertheless, both players will be joining Poland and Austria squads at the start of next week. Lewandowski will be looking to take his club form to the national team and score some important goals in the next two weeks. Meanwhile, Alaba would also be eyeing good results with Denmark to build momentum ahead of Euros in the summer.

Meanwhile, Jamal Musiala has been called up for the German national team. The young forward decided to represent Germany on the international stage in February. Thomas Muller has not been called up by Joachim Low, but he could be in line to return to the squad for Euros due to his consistent performances for Bayern.
