Bayern Munich: Jann-Fiete Arp subject to interest from Hannover 96
Bayern Munich will be eager to settle the books in the summer by listening to offers for fringe players. Along with getting good transfer fees, reducing the wage bill will be also key for the German Champions after enduring severe financial impacts due to the pandemic.
Jann-Fiete Arp could be one of the players that could be on his way out of Bayern during the summer transfer window. The young forward has endured a miserable spell in Bavaria ever since joining the club from Hamburger SV in 2019.
According to Bild, Hannover 96 is interested in signing Arp in the summer window. However, the German club would not be able to afford the wages that Die Roten is paying the youngster right now. Arp will have to take a pay cut to seal a move to Hannover.
Arp was one of the most sought-after young forward in Germany during his time at Hamburger SV. He was heavily linked with a move to Bayern in 2018, but a transfer didn’t materialize for the young forward. Arp eventually moved to Bavaria in 2019.

Niko Kovac decided to take Arp for the pre-season tour in 2019. Arp repaid the faith of Kovac by delivering some impressive performances during the tour. He was on the bench for a couple of Bundesliga games at the start of the season. However, an injury nightmare in the first half of the season limited his opportunities.
When Arp returned to complete fitness, Kovac had left the club and Hansi Flick was given the reigns of the first team. Arp has found it difficult to break into Flick’s plans for the first team. Since January, the young German forward has featured heavily with the reserves team and training with the second squad.
Arp needs regular game time at the first-team level, so a move away from Bavaria should be on the agenda for him. There are too many players ahead of him in the first team, both in wide areas and number nine position.
From Bayern’s perspective, they are unlikely to get a big fee for Arp this summer, so a loan deal would benefit them right now. His wages are hefty for a player that is currently playing in the second team, so getting him off the books for a season would benefit the club. Arp still has a lot of time left in his career, so a fresh start would help him to get back to his best.
