Bayern Munich returned to the training pitch after enjoying two days off after Hansi Flick gave his team rest after their incredible exploits in Der Klassiker. Preparation has now begun in the lead-up to their away clash with Werder Bremen and going by the club’s official website, the squad was in a buoyant mood as they site top of the pile, two points above RB Leipzig.
In their first session back players were put through their paces as they gear up for another important clash. There was also some great news on the injury and availability front too, with both Benjamin Pavard and Jerome Boateng both sighted and taking part in certain drills on the pitch.
Pavard missed Der Klassiker after not getting through his training load earlier in the week but has now made significant progress and is putting pressure on Flick to start him over Niklas Sule. For Boateng, while he did not take part in a full session with his teammates, the sight of him already on the pitch after it looked like he sustained a serious knee injury is great for Flick and his side.
According to Abendzeitung, the central defender trained for around half an hour although it is thought that Die Roten will take no chances with him and the clash with Bremen could come too soon.
