Bayern Munich rallied to defeat Borussia Dortmund for the third time this season. After trailing 2-0 early in the match, Die Roten scored four unanswered goals to claim all three points at the Allianz Arena. It was a memorable Der Klassiker victory for Bayern and it’s a win that ensures they remain atop the Bundesliga table entering Matchday 25. Here are the top three Bayern performers from the 4-2 victory.

Robert Lewandowski

There’s no question Lewandowski was the Man of the Match. The Bayern striker recorded his third performance of the season where he’s scored three goals or more in a single match. He showed his usual composure in the penalty area in the first half.

For the first goal, he turned in a cross from close range and then dispatched a penalty kick for his second. The goal that completed the hat trick was arguably his best strike of the match as he placed a well-driven shot past the Dortmund goalkeeper into the bottom corner of the net.

Lewandowski’s goal total in the Bundesliga this season now stands at 31 and he needs to average just one goal per match for the remaining 10 fixtures to break Gerd Muller’s record. This performance might have been the pivotal one that will allow him to set a new single-season goal record in the Bundesliga.

More from Bayern Strikes

Leroy Sane

It was a great performance from the Bayern winger who assisted Lewandowski’s first goal. Sane also was a part of Bayern’s fourth goal as his dummy allowed Lewandowski to receive the ball and fire home his third goal.

The German winger finished with a total of three key passes which included a great pass in the 33rd minute that ended up leading to a scoring opportunity. Sane was giving Lewandowski the chances he needed to make an impact and it resulted in a massive win for Bayern.

Leon Goretzka

The deciding moment of the match was Goretzka’s goal in the 88th minute. His perfectly placed shot was one of the top Bayern goals of the season so far. In addition to his goal, Goretzka helped lead the way when it came to generating key passes as he finished with four key passes.
