A less demanding schedule awaits Bayern Munich in March. After playing seven fixtures in February, Die Roten will have just four matches on the schedule during March. There will be three games in the Bundesliga including Der Klassiker and one home game in the Champions League.

The fixture list that awaits Bayern during the month should allow Hansi Flick to play his first-choice squad on a consistent basis. For this reason, Bayern’s top players should be playing in every match this month. Here are three key players to watch for in the matches to come.

Serge Gnabry

Gnabry finished February with a two-goal performance against FC Koln. This was his first multi-goal performance since Matchday One when he registered a hat-trick against Schalke. After going through a 12 match goal drought in all competitions earlier this season, it now appears Gnabry is on the path to finishing the season strong.

The German international scored 12 goals last season in the Bundesliga and finished as the next highest goal scorer behind Robert Lewandowski. Gnabry can still reach last season’s number if he continues to score in March. The winger will be a key player to watch during the month as he looks to register more goals.

More from Bayern Strikes

Leon Goretzka

The Bayern midfielder only played in three of Die Roten’s seven fixtures during March due to testing positive for Covid-19. After returning from his absence, Goretzka has been performing very well. He registered an assist in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg against Lazio and followed up with a hat trick of assists against FC Koln.

It’s clear Goretzka is having an impact since returning to the lineup and he could very well continue to produce assists at a high rate throughout March. Even if he records just one assist during the month, it will still give him a career-high number for assists in a single Bundesliga season.

Robert Lewandowski

Goals continue to be scored by Lewandowski at an incredible rate. Entering March the Polish striker leads the Bundesliga in goals scored with an impressive total of 28. He will be looking to increase his total and move closer to the 40 goal mark during March. If he can score four or five goals this month then the record should be within striking distance entering the final two months of the 2020/21 campaign.

Next. Three things to watch out for Bayern in March. dark

Lewandowski has already scored against two of the three Bundesliga clubs Bayern will face this month. Werder Bremen is the club he has yet to score against, and if he does score against them, then RB Leipzig will remain as the only Bundesliga club he has yet to record a goal against this season.
