Mickael Cuisance did everything possible to get a move to Bayern Munich in 2019. He eventually arrived as a replacement for Renato Sanches. Cuisance was tipped to be an important player for Die Roten, but things didn’t fall in place for the young midfielder.

After struggling to get playing time during his debut campaign, Cuisance decided to go out on loan last summer. His move to Leeds United fell through at the last moment, so he moved to Ligue 1 to play for Marseille. The loan move has also not gone as per plans for the French midfielder.

According to L’Equipe, Marseille has not been impressed with Cuisance’s performances this season, so a permanent move is out of question as of now. SportBild’s Christian Falk has also insisted that the French club is unlikely to sign Cuisance, while TZ’s Manuel Bonke is reporting that Cuisance’s future at Marseille will be made by the end of March.

Die Roten may have to arrange a loan spell for Mickael Cuisance in summer or look for a permanent sale if both parties want to go in different directions. The Frenchman is clearly a talented midfielder, as he showed during his time at Borussia Monchengladbach, but circumstances in the last two years have not helped him to develop.

More from Bayern Strikes

Another solution could be fighting for a place at Bayern since Corentin Tolisso has suffered serious injury and Javi Martinez is leaving in the summer. This situation in the Die Roten squad could open up an opportunity for the young French midfielder to get more playing time.

Cuisance having a future at the club still looks like a far-fetched idea. It is disappointing to see that two young and talented midfielders have failed to kick on at Bayern, while the third midfielder in Marc Roca is going through a similar phase. The blame shouldn’t lie completely on players, and Die Roten should also take responsibility for not getting the best out of players such as Cuisance and Sanches.

Rekordmeister reportedly wants to sign a midfielder in the summer transfer window. However, the return of Cuisance and injury to Tolisso might alter their plans. They were reportedly banking on raising funds for new midfield additions by parting ways with these two French midfielders.

Along with Mickael Cuisance, it does look like Adrian Fein will return to Die Roten in summer. The German midfielder is also struggling for regular playing time at PSV Eindhoven. It is going to be an intriguing summer for Rekordmeister’s midfield department.
