Bayern Munich: Top three performers from 3-3 draw with Arminia Bielefeld
By Daniel Garza
Bayern Munich dropped points on Monday night in a 3-3 draw with Arminia Bielefeld. Die Roten had to overcome a two-goal deficit at halftime in order to earn a point at the Allianz Arena. A five-game-winning run in the Bundesliga was halted by Bielefeld on Monday.
With three different goal scorers, there were multiple contributors in the comeback effort that saw Bayern avoid a shock defeat at home. Die Roten’s lead at the top has been reduced to five points after this result. Here are the top three Bayern performers from the match.
Leroy Sane
Sane was a threat on the right wing for Bayern throughout the match. He finished with one assist, two key passes, and four shots. His assist was a perfectly placed cross to Corentin Tolisso whose header went untouched into the back of the net.
Sane also played a part in the equaliser scored by Alphonso Davies. The winger dribbled into the box and then delivered a cross that deflected off Robert Lewandowski and fell into the path of Davies. Overall, it was a strong performance from Sane as he played the entire match due to the injury absence of Serge Gnabry.

Alphonso Davies
Davies’ first goal of the Bundesliga season was a fantastic strike. The Canadian left back blasted the ball into the back of the net to level the scoreline and earn Bayern a point. In addition to his goal, Davies registered the highest pass completion percentage on Bayern’s squad and generated two key passes.
Defensively, he recorded two tackles and one clearance. It was no surprise to see the talented left-back record the fastest speed out of any player on the pitch as he used his tremendous pace to record four dribbles. This was one of the best performances from Davies so far in the 2020/21 campaign.
Robert Lewandowski
Lewandowski recorded his 25th goal of the Bundesliga season with a fantastic display of control and finishing ability. He nearly scored the match-winning goal in the 72nd minute when he dribbled through the Arminia Biefeld defense and sent his effort just wide of the net. The striker registered the most shots of any player on the pitch with six shots and four were on target.
Bayern’s star striker continues to be a very reliable goal scorer for Bayern this season. He has failed to score in just four Bundesliga fixtures so far during the current campaign. Lewandowski only needs 10 more goals to record his best season to date in terms of goals scored in a single Bundesliga season.
