Bayern Munich: Predicted Starting XI in home clash against Arminia Bielefeld
After a historic win in the FIFA Club World Cup on Thursday, Bayern Munich will resume the Bundesliga action on Monday night football. The German Champions will be looking to make six wins in a row when they host Arminia Bielefeld on matchday 21 of the Bundesliga.
Die Roten has got better in terms of consistency in performances over the last few weeks. They delivered two professional and dominant displays in the Club World Cup last week, so following that with good performance on Monday will be key. With few concerns over the fitness of key players, let us look at the possible starting XI that will play against Arminia Bielefeld.
Who is fit for Monday’s clash against Arminia Bielefeld?
Bayern Munich will be without numerous players for Monday’s Bundesliga game. Leon Goretzka has been training individually after recovering from coronavirus, so he has a chance of making the matchday squad. Meanwhile, Javi Martinez is yet to resume training since recovering from coronavirus.
Serge Gnabry is going to be on the sidelines after suffering a muscle injury in the final of the Club World Cup. Thomas Muller is going to be out for at least a week after being tested positive for coronavirus in Qatar. Jerome Boateng might also get one more day off after returning to Munich early due to personal reasons. Nianzou Kouassi is close to getting match fit, but he is likely to miss this game. Alexander Nubel is the only long-term absentee for Die Roten.

Predicted XI for Bayern against Arminia Bielefeld
The last few weeks have been brilliant for Manuel Neuer as his good performances have been rewarded with clean sheets. The German international is not getting rest anytime soon since Alexander Nubel is on the sidelines due to an ankle ligament injury. Barring any injury issue, Neuer is expected to start against Arminia Bielefeld.
In the central defense, Niklas Sule is likely to continue in the absence of Jerome Boateng, while David Alaba might move back in defense after playing the midfield against Tigres. Lucas Hernandez will move into the left-back position to give rest to Alphonso Davies after playing two games last week. Benjamin Pavard will continue in the right-back position.
With Alaba moving back in defense, Marc Roca might get another start in the absence of Goretzka and Martinez. Roca was impressive against Al Ahly, so he was unlucky to miss out on a place in the team against Tigres. The Spaniard is slowly getting back to his best after a tough settling period. He is likely to partner Joshua Kimmich in the center of the park on Monday.
The number ten position will be a selection conundrum for Flick since Gnabry, Muller, and Goretzka are unavailable for Monday’s game. Jamal Musiala may get an opportunity in the number ten role after coming off the bench in the last few games. Leroy Sane and Douglas Costa may start in wide areas, giving Kingsley Coman a breather after starting three games in the space of seven days. Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for the German Champions.
