Bayern Munich Frauen continued their winning ways against Werder Bremen on Sunday. An emphatic 7-0 victory ensures Bayern will remain five points clear at the top of the Frauen-Bundesliga table.

A three-goal first half gave the hosts a commanding lead as four more goals would come in the second half to give Bayern their second consecutive seven-goal performance. The victory is Die Roten’s 14th of the current Bundesliga campaign as they have yet to lose or draw a match.

A dominant offensive display

The goals continue to come in droves for Bayern. In their last three Frauen-Bundesliga fixtures, Die Roten have scored a combined 22 goals. Their 54 goals scored in 14 matches played in the German top flight has been nothing short of phenomenal. No other club in the league has been able to match their goal-scoring numbers.

When it comes to scoring goals, it remains a complete team effort. Against Bremen, Bayern had five different goal scorers in the victory. Lea Schuller and Linda Dallmann led the way with two goals each and Lina Magull, Carolin Simon, and Marina Hegering adding goals as well.  Just a week prior Bayern had another great team showing when three different players scored in a 7-1 win over Meppen.

More from Bayern Strikes

Another clean sheet

Clean sheet performances have been a common theme for Bayern’s season so far and they recorded another against Bremen. They have conceded just two goals in the 14 Frauen-Bundesliga matches they’ve played this season. In total, 12 of their 14 matches in the German top-flight have been clean sheets.

The two goals conceded is the best defensive record in the league by far as Wolfsburg are the next closest club with 11 goals allowed in their 14 matches. Bayern has been getting the job done defensively and it’s been a key reason why they have managed to avoid a defeat so far in the 2020/21 campaign.

Schuller showing great form in 2021

It’s been a terrific start to the 2021 portion of the schedule for Schuller. The forward has scored nine goals in her last three appearances for Bayern in all competitions. Her five-goal performance against Walddorfer in the DFB-Pokal in January was a phenomenal display.

dark. Next. Takeaways from Bayern's win CWC final

In Schuller’s two most recent appearances, she’s recorded a brace, which includes a two-goal performance in the win over Bremen on Sunday. Schuller is certainly in tremendous form and it appears she’s on her way to another double-digit goal-scoring season in the Frauen-Bundesliga.
