Bayern Munich: Predicted starting XI for away trip to Hertha Berlin
Bayern Munich will be looking to maintain the winning momentum before they participate in the Club World Cup next week. Before that small tournament, Die Roten will be travelling to Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga on Friday.
The German Champions have been getting some sort of consistency in results by beating teams more convincingly. They delivered a controlled chaotic performance against Hoffenheim, showing efficiency in both boxes. Hansi Flick will be hoping that slowly and steadily team gets back to their best shape ahead of a demanding few months of the season. Before looking at the bigger picture, let us ponder the possible starting XI for Friday’s league game.
Who is available for clash against Hertha Berlin?
Javi Martinez and Leon Goretzka remain out of contention after getting tested positive for coronavirus last weekend. Both were announced in the squad list for the Club World Cup, but the result of the final test and quarantine rules of Qatar will decide the fate of their participation in the competition.
Corentin Tolisso will be back in the squad on Friday after serving the punishment for breaking covid protocols last weekend. Nianzou Kouassi continues to train separately in a bid to complete his recovery from a serious injury that he suffered two months ago. Alexander Nubel is another long-term absentee for Die Roten as he is set to be out for four to six weeks due to an ankle ligament injury.

Predicted Starting XI against Hertha Berlin
Manuel Neuer was at his best against Hoffenheim, making few crucial saves to make the game much more comfortable for his teammates. The German goalkeeper will be disappointed to not have a clean sheet from that game since his performance deserved it. He will have another chance to add another clean sheet to his tally when he starts in the goal on Friday.
Jerome Boateng scored a terrific goal last weekend. The German defender is once again forming a solid partnership with David Alaba in central defense. Flick is likely to keep this continuity in the heart of the defense. Lucas Hernandez should get an opportunity on Friday, while Benjamin Pavard will slot in the right-back position.
Since Tolisso will be available for selection, it will be intriguing to see if Flick decides to reward Marc Roca for his good performance last weekend or brings Tolisso back in the team. The Spaniard needs a run of games to build some momentum, so rewarding him for last weekend’s performance makes sense. The Spaniard will pair up with Joshua Kimmich in the center of the park.
There could be slight rotation in the attack for Die Roten on Friday since there is a game early next week. Thomas Muller will start in the number ten role, while Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry will occupy flanks against Hertha Berlin. Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for the defending Champions.
