Documentary series on football teams have been successful for streaming platforms in the past few years. Bayern Munich is finally going to get one lengthy documentary series that will give an insight to fans about what happens behind the scenes at German’s biggest football club.

According to SportsBuzzer, Amazon is going to produce a web series on Bayern Munich. The series on Die Roten are going to be announced by Amazon during a virtual event on Tuesday. Bild is also reporting on the possible collaboration between Amazon and Bayern. The documentary series is likely to be released in autumn 2021.

Amazon has previously produced similar web series under the banner All or Nothing for Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspurs. Both series covered a complete season in eight to nine episodes. It remains to be seen whether the treble-winning campaign will be the focus in Bayern’s web series or the ongoing season.

Nevertheless, it is exciting news for the Bavarian faithful. A complete insight into the club’s work behind the scenes will be an intriguing watch. They will also get to know how players react to defeats and victories in the dressing room. The documentary series will also show how Flick has been working his magic behind the scenes.

More from Bayern Strikes

The treble-winning campaign 2019/20 will have fantastic content for making a series. Die Roten had a haphazard start to the campaign, which eventually led to the departure of Niko Kovac. Hansi Flick came in and changed things for good, helping the team to play high-intensity football that guided them to the second treble victory in their series.

From a commercial point of view, this is a good source of revenue for Bayern. Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspurs ended up pocketing £10 million from Amazon for web series, so Die Roten is also likely to get a similar type of cash outlay from this deal with the online streaming platform.

Deals like the one with Amazon will benefit Bayern this season to offset the absence of revenue from fans coming to the stadium. The matchday revenue has been hampered heavily since March 2020. It is very much likely that fans will not be returning to Allianz Arena before the end of this campaign. In such a dire situation, Rekordmeister has to be creative in other streams of revenue.

Next. Three things to watch out for Bayern during February. dark

Bayern has been working hard to become a commercial powerhouse in Europe. Despite a pandemic hit season, Die Roten managed to move up in the Deloitte Money League standings for the 2019/20 season. They currently sit third in the table behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.
