Bayern Munich continues to have an aggressive approach in terms of recruiting young players from across the club. In the past couple of years, they have been focusing on signing young talent from English football. Rochdale’s Kwadwo Baah is the latest player that the German club is keeping a close eye on.

According to The Athletic, Bayern is one of the top European clubs that is interested in signing Kwadwo Baah from Rochdale. The young forward’s contract at Rochdale is set to expire in summer, but this report insists that the League One club is ready to cash in before the deadline day.

The English media outlet is also reporting that West Ham United is leading the race as of now. However, serious intervention from a big European club like Bayern may change things. Baah has been in good form for Rochdale, so he needs to be careful with his next step to avoid a big hurdle in his development.

The 18-year-old forward has shone for Rochdale this season from the left flank, but he can also play on the right flank. In 13 appearances for Rochdale this year, Baah has managed to score three goals and create two goals for his teammates. (Stats courtesy: Transfermarkt)

More from Bayern Strikes

Baah is likely to be an investment for the future at Bayern. He is unlikely to be straightaway part of the first team. The teenager will have to work through the reserves to get a chance in the first team. Joining a big European club could be a mouth-watering prospect for the teenager, but West Ham may provide a more instant route to senior football.

Die Roten has been rewarded for their approach towards signing young players from English clubs. Jamal Musiala has been one of the finds in the Bundesliga this season. The young forward left Chelsea in 2019 to join Die Roten. After playing at youth level for a year, Musiala is now part of the first team every weekend.

Alphonso Davies is another success story for Die Roten in terms of showing faith in young players. The German club paid a big fee to beat rivals for his signature. After a slow start to life in Bavaria, Davies has become one of the most exciting full-backs in Europe.

Baah will have to prioritise his development, so he is likely to pick a club that offers a better plan for his integration in the first team. Even if Die Roten fails to sign the teenager, the club should be lauded for looking at such type of deals.
