Bayern Munich went through a wobble in the past six weeks where they looked unconvincing on the pitch, but they managed to hang on the top spot in the league table. In the last couple of games, they have found back their mojo as Hansi Flick is on the verge of seeing out first tough phase in his short managerial career in Bavaria.

The German manager has been an instant success at Bayern, but his future at the club is not exactly certain going by recent reports in Germany. According to SportBild, Flick’s future at Bayern is not clear due to the departure of Karl-Heinz Rummenigge at the end of 2021. Rummenigge and Uli Hoeness have been the biggest supporters of Flick at the club.

This report further insists that there is friction between Hasan Salihamidzic and Flick. The coaching staff is not exactly pleased with the signings made last summer. Flick has also often publicly made requests for transfers rather than talking behind the scenes, highlighting possible tension between Brazzo and him.

Flick has done a remarkable job at Bayern, guiding them to a historic treble in his first eight months at the club. The German manager has won five trophies in less than 15 months at the club, including the prestigious Champions League title that Die Roten has struggled to win since 2013.

More from Bayern Strikes

Apart from winning the trophies, Flick has got Bayern playing attractive football. The team has been dominating some of the best teams in Europe. Die Roten move the ball quicker and put an extra shift in to win it higher up the pitch. Along with several memorable results under Flick, the 8-2 win against Barcelona in the quarter-final of the CL stands out.

Along with having a sound tactical mind, Flick is also a terrific man-manager. He had been lauded by players last season for his approach off the pitch. Jerome Boateng and Thomas Muller were completely out of favour under Niko Kovac. Flick came in and started the redemption arc for both players. Both of them went on to play big roles in the treble-winning campaign.

Flick surely has limitations, but he ticks a lot of boxes for Bayern to stick with him for a longer time. They have found a manager that is competing on all front with a style of football that fans love to see, so the least club can do is to stick with him at least until the end of his contract.

The German manager currently has two years left on his deal, so the threat of DFB will not worry Bayern as long as Flick remains happy at the club. With the amount of success and the way it has been achieved, it would be mad to think that Flick’s future is far from certain in Bavaria.
