Bayern Munich planning to part ways with French midfielders next summer
Bayern Munich is planning for the summer transfer window after a quiet winter market. The German Champions have a settled spine in the current squad, but they will have to reinforce some key areas to remain the best team in Germany and possibly Europe too.
The funds for incomings are likely to be raised by listening offers for fringe players in the current squad. According to Bild (via Footmercato), Corentin Tolisso is likely to leave Bavaria in the summer as the club wants to cash in rather than offering a new deal to the midfielder.
Along with Tolisso, Die Roten is also hoping that Mickael Cuisance makes his move to Marseille permanent in summer. The French club has the option to sign Cuisance permanently for €18 million at the end of the current campaign.
Tolisso has not been the first-choice midfielder for Hansi Flick this season. The French international has deputised for Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich whenever they are rested or injured. The German Champions will need a replacement for him since Javi Martinez is also leaving in the summer, so midfield will be depleted.

Ever since the cruciate ligament injury, Tolisso has not looked the same. He enjoyed a very successful debut campaign in 2017/18, providing goals from the midfield. After the World Cup triumph with France, he was expected to get even better. However, a cruciate ligament injury completely derailed his career at Bayern.
If Thiago Alcantara had signed a contract extension at Bayern last summer, then Tolisso could have left last summer itself. He has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A as top Italian clubs have shown interest in him. Manchester United also reportedly tried to get him on loan during the last winter transfer window.
Tolisso will be entering the prime years of his career, so he will definitely have good clubs fighting for his service. Die Roten may not get the fee that they paid to Lyon in 2017 to sign Tolisso, but a considerable amount of the fee can be recouped. At the moment, Tolisso will get a decent amount of opportunities this season to play due to the congestion of fixtures.
Meanwhile, Cuisance is already not part of the squad this season. He has struggled to get playing time ever since joining Borussia Monchengladbach in 2019. After failing a medical at Leeds United last summer, he joined Marseille on a season-long loan. Die Roten will make a considerable amount of profit if the French club exercises option to buy.
