Bayern Munich got back to winning ways in the Bundesliga on Sunday as they survived a late scare from Freiburg at Allianz Arena to clinch a 2-1 victory. There is no point dwelling on that victory as games are coming thick and fast. The German Champions will be travelling away to Augsburg in the midweek Bundesliga clash.

The last two away trips across all competitions have not been good for Die Roten. They were knocked out in the cup tie on penalties. Rekordmeister fumbled a two-goal lead against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga before cup defeat.

Hansi Flick will be looking to build momentum on the win against Freiburg, but he will have to rotate the squad against Augsburg to keep all players fresh. Here is the possible group of players available for him and the predicted team he could go with.

Who is available for Bayern Munich?

Bayern will be having a strong squad available for the clash against Augsburg. Serge Gnabry suffered a minor injury against Freiburg, but he was back in training with the squad this week. The German winger is likely to be included in the matchday squad on Wednesday. Nianzou Kouassi is the only long term absentee for Die Roten.

The clean sheet continues to allude to Manuel Neuer in the last nine to ten league games. Alexander Nubel’s game time has been reduced to a minimum this season, but his time will eventually come. At the moment, Neuer is by far the best goalkeeper in the world, so he plays every game.

The defensive problems of the team can be solved by sticking with a stable back four for few games. The back four that featured against Freiburg did fairly well, so Flick should stick with them on Wednesday. Jerome Boateng and David Alaba will form the central defensive pairing, while Benjamin Pavard and Alphonso Davies will occupy full-back positions.

Joshua Kimmich is likely to be selected in the central midfield since there is no direct replacement for him in the team. Corentin Tolisso should get the nod for this game as Kimmich’s midfield partner. Goretzka has returned from an injury, so his minutes need to be managed while going forward.

Next. Douglas Costa could leave Bayern in January. dark

Leroy Sane was impressive against Freiburg, so he will get a start on Wednesday. Kingsley Coman will start on the other flank. Robert Lewandowski will be looking to continue his good goalscoring form on Wednesday, while Thomas Muller will be looking to feed the forwards with incisive passing and crossing from the number ten position.
