Bayern Munich striker Joshua Zirkzee is likely to get a move away from Bundesliga.

The biggest departure for Bayern Munich in the winter window is likely to be Joshua Zirkzee. The Dutch forward is currently playing for the reserves team after enjoying a solid campaign with the first team last season. He has found it difficult to get playing time for Bayern this season.

Zirkzee was heavily linked with a loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Koln. Frankfurt ended up bringing up Luka Jovic back to the club in a loan deal, while the interest from FC Koln has cooled. The recent reports suggest that Zirkzee is unlikely to play in the Bundesliga during the loan spell.

According to Daily Mail, Everton is interested in signing Zirkzee on loan with an option to buy. Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that Everton is holding talks with Bayern to sign the Dutch forward. The Italian journalist also reported that Parma is also discussing a move for Zirkzee with the German Champions.

Zirkzee has endured a difficult time in the first team this season due to competition for places in the attack. His misery was further compounded last week when he ended up injuring the opposition goalkeeper in the reserves game. The Dutch striker was given marching orders for the tackle and will face suspension.

More from Bayern Strikes

The arrival of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting on a free transfer in summer has made a detrimental impact on Zirkzee’s playing time in Bavaria. The Cameroon striker is now preferred as the first-choice backup for Lewandowski. Zirkzee was reportedly looking for a loan move at the end of the summer transfer window.

A good loan move for Zirkzee will bode well for his chances to make it at Bayern. Everton is a good side in the Premier League, but Zirkzee will find it difficult to play consistently due to the presence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The English striker has been in sensational form for the Merseyside club this season.

Parma would be much better suited for Zirkzee if he wants to get regular playing time. The Italian side is fighting relegation in Serie A, so Zirkzee can provide the spark by scoring goals. A relegation fight might not sound ideal for a young player, but he will learn a lot due to the amount of pressure on him to score consistently.

Nevertheless, it is paramount for Zirkzee’s development that he sorts the loan move this window. The Dutch forward has previously admitted that he wants to fulfill his potential in Bavaria. To achieve this long term target, Zirkzee will have to temporarily move away from Bayern to develop his game.
