Bayern Munich: Four early predictions for a busy 2021
Jerome Boateng will extend his stay at Bayern
David Alaba has one foot out of Bavaria after the club withdrew their contract offer at the end of October. The little hope of both parties coming together on the table has extinguished as Alaba is reportedly holding talks with Real Madrid. With Alaba looking certain to leave, it will be hard to see Jerome Boateng also leaving the club in summer.
Boateng is also free to negotiate with interested clubs in January since he enters the last six months of his current contract. The German defender’s career at Bayern was certainly ending last season, but Hansi Flick showed faith in him and got the best out of him. Boateng played consistently and delivered strong performances across all competitions.

The German media reported a few weeks ago that Die Roten has decided against giving a new deal to Boateng. The German defender wants to experience a new environment in the future, but he is open to extending his stay in Bavaria.
Boateng has started 16 games this season, so Flick surely values his quality. Considering this team will be devoid of experience due to the departures of Alaba and Muller, I think Boateng will be soon offered fresh terms for a short-term deal. The former German international may not start regularly, but his experience will be very handy on and off the pitch.
