Dietmar Hamann impressed by world-class Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.
Kingsley Coman has been one of the key players for Bayern Munich this season. When he went down against Bayer Leverkusen, there was a lot of anxiety since the French winger has been the go-to man in the final third. Finally, when he was finding his feet, another injury would have been a killer blow. Thankfully, it was a minor injury, and he was back in training this week.
Die Roten has shown a lot of faith in Coman over the years. Despite an inconsistent loan spell, the club hierarchy was confident that he would be an important part of the club’s long-term plans. The German club took up the option to sign him permanently.
After joining Bayern permanently, Coman suffered various injury problems that halted his development. Even when he was fit, his end product used to be frustrating despite the number of dribbles he used to complete to stretch defenses.
Coman has finally found consistency in 2020. He is becoming a much well rounded forward with every passing game. Speaking to Stadium Astro, former Bayern midfielder Dietmar Hamann insisted that Coman is the best wide player in the world right now.
"“For me, the best winger out there at the moment is Kingsley Coman.”“He had injury problems when he came to Munich but he got fit and scored the winner in the Champions League final. He’s two-footed, he’s quick, he’s very clever, great decision making and his finishing has improved a lot.”"

Hamann was insisting that Liverpool should be looking at Coman if Mohamed Salah leaves in the near future. He did admit that Die Roten is unlikely to part ways with Coman anytime soon. Earlier this year, reports were suggesting that Die Roten will be handing a new deal to the French winger.
The goal against Paris Saint-Germain in the CL final has been a defining moment of Coman’s time at Bayern. He has gone from strength to strength since that goal. Additional competition for places after the arrival of Leroy Sane in summer has also kept Coman on his toes. There is still scope for improvement, but Coman is finally showing the form of his debut campaign.
Manchester United were reportedly interested in signing Coman last summer. Die Roten were not ready to entertain offers for him at that time. At the moment, it looks even more unlikely that the German Champions will part ways with Coman anytime soon.
After the blow against Leverkusen, Coman was back in training this week. The Frenchman was training alone on Wednesday, so his chances of featuring against Mainz on Sunday hangs in the balance. Hansi Flick needs Coman for the whole of Ruckrunde, so the German manager is unlikely to take a risk with him.
