Clinching important win at Signal Iduna Park
Der Klassiker used to be deciding clashes for the Bundesliga title for most of the seasons in the last decade. However, more teams have improved in the league, making the title race even more intriguing.
Having said that, Der Klassiker remains the biggest league game for Bayern due to the rivalry between the two clubs. In the first part of the 2020/21 campaign, Die Roten travelled away to play Der Klassiker at the start of November. It was a cracking game as the outcome was decided by the finest margins.

Dortmund grabbed the lead at home through Marco Reus. Die Roten responded quickly through a clever free-kick from David Alaba. Robert Lewandowski and Leroy Sane scored two goals in the second half to give the visitors the upper hand in the game. However, Erling Braut Haaland scored late in the game to give Dortmund some hope of salvaging a point. Die Roten showed experience to manage the game to perfection to stop Dortmund from scoring the equalizer.
It was a proper end to end game as both sides lacked control. Joshua Kimmich’s injury in the first half was a big blow for Die Roten, but Flick’s men showed great composure to get important three points in the derby. It was not the most pleasing performance, but the fight and astute game management highlighted the quality of coaches and players at Bayern.
