A memorable year for Bayern Munich is coming to an end on Saturday with an away trip to Bayer Leverkusen. The German Champions come into this game on the back of a hard-fought 2-1 win against Wolfsburg on Saturday. It was an important result as Die Roten are not in their best form right now.

It is going to be a challenging game for the defending champions. Let us look at the possible starting XI after looking at team news for tomorrow.

What is the team news for Bayern Munich?

Bayern will receive a big boost this weekend as Joshua Kimmich is set to return to the matchday squad. According to Sky Sports, Kimmich has travelled with the squad to Leverkusen. The German midfielder may not start on Saturday, but a cameo from the bench will also be beneficial for the team.

Leon Goretzka has not travelled with the squad as he continues his recovery from a minor injury. Javi Martinez will also miss Saturday’s game since he is yet to completely recover from a muscle injury. Nianzou Kouassi is the long-term absentee for the German Champions.

Predicted Starting XI for Bayern Munich against Bayer Leverkusen

Flick made slight changes to his best XI on Wednesday, so he is likely to bring the rested players back in the lineup. Fresh from winning the BEST goalkeeper award, Manuel Neuer will be looking to get his first league clean sheet in over a month on Saturday. The German international was in sublime form against Wolfsburg, making numerous significant save to preserve his team’s lead.

Benjamin Pavard will return to the lineup after being rested against Wolfsburg. The Frenchman will slot in the right-back position, while Alphonso Davies should be getting a start in the left-back position. Niklas Sule and David Alaba are likely to be the center-back pairing against Leverkusen.

Kimmich has been the lynchpin in the midfield for Die Roten, so his return is a big boost for Flick. However, it is hugely unlikely that he will start the game straightaway. With Goretzka missing out due to injury, Corentin Tolisso is likely to be trusted in the deeper midfield role against Leverkusen.

Jamal Musiala has repaid Flick’s faith in him by delivering good performances in the attacking midfield role. The youngster may get the nod along with Thomas Muller in that dual number ten role. Kingsley Coman is a definite starter on the left-flank, while Leroy Sane could start after his promising midweek performance. The world’s best player of the year will lead the attacking line for the German Champions on Saturday.
