Jamal Musiala deserves new contract at Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich is doing the right thing by securing the future of Jamal Musiala.
This year has been dominated by Bayern Munich for the right seasons, winning a historic treble. From an administrative point of view, the club did have a couple of lows. Thiago Alcantara rejected a new deal and left for Liverpool, while David Alaba also has one foot out of Bavaria after the club withdrew their contract offer.
These two contractual situations have given Die Roten a harsh lesson about securing the future of top players. They will be more proactive in the future instead of opening talks in the final year. This is the reason why reports of Bayern opening talks with Musiala is music to the ears of club fans.
According to Daily Mail, Bayern is set to step up talks with Musiala for a new deal that is likely to reach up to £100k when all performance-related bonuses are met. This report also insists that top clubs from the Premier League are already monitoring the progress of Musiala. The young forward currently has 18 months on his current deal.
Musiala was snapped up by Die Roten from Chelsea at the age of 16. He started training with the first team in Bavaria this season. He made an immediate impact in the first Bundesliga game this season, coming off the bench to score a goal against Schalke.

Since scoring in the first game of the league campaign, Musiala has not looked back. He has made 12 appearances across all competitions until now. The teenager has three times found the back of the net, including an important goal in 3-3 draw against RB Leipzig last weekend. Musiala might go through a poor run of form, but his talent has been clearly displayed in 12 games this season. The English forward has shown maturity at the top level beyond his ages, making the right decisions in difficult situations on the pitch. Moreover, he doesn’t look fazed against some of the best opposition in Europe.
The reported wages for Musiala might seem steep, but the German Champions will eventually reap the rewards if he triggers all bonuses. Moreover, Musiala might be tempted to move back to England in the future, so a longer contract will help in protecting his value.
Musiala could be in line to make another appearance later tonight when Wolfsburg visit Allianz Arena in the Bundesliga. The first half of the season has been magnificent for the teenager. He will be looking to end Hinrunde strongly by delivering good performances against Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen this week.
