Possible starting XI for Bayern Munich in the midweek game against Wolfsburg.

It has been a rough ride for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga since the last international break. They have won one league game in the past four gameweeks. They have not suffered defeats, but the performances in three draws have been concerning.

On Saturday, Die Roten had to fight hard to get a point from the away game against Union Berlin. Hansi Flick will be looking to get things back on track when the defending champions host Wolfsburg on Wednesday. There are few selection conundrums for Flick, so let us look at the availability of players and how Die Roten could lineup at Allianz Arena tomorrow.

Which Bayern Munich players are available for clash against Wolfsburg?

Joshua Kimmich has been making big strides toward making a return to action in the past few days. The game against Wolfsburg will be too soon for the German international, though. Die Roten will also be without Leon Goretzka on Wednesday.

Nianzou Kouassi suffered a big injury setback last week. The French defender is set to be out of action for at least two months. Meanwhile, Niklas Sule was spotted in the first-team training after missing the game against Union Berlin due to a minor injury. Javi Martinez remains on the sidelines due to a muscle injury he suffered earlier this month.

Predicted Starting XI for Bayern Munich

Clean sheets have been difficult to come by for Manuel Neuer in the past few weeks despite making a string of spectacular saves. The German goalkeeper will be looking to get one on Wednesday when he starts against Wolfsburg.

In the defense, Flick will have a decision to make between Jerome Boateng and Niklas Sule. Since Boateng featured on Saturday, the German manager is likely to bring Sule in the team and partner him with David Alaba in the heart of the defense. Alphonso Davies has started two games, so Lucas Hernandez should start in the left-back position, while Benjamin Pavard will slot in the right-back position.

Goretzka’s injury will force Flick to rethink his midfield combination for Wednesday’s game. Corentin Tolisso is a definite starter. The Frenchman is likely to be the box-to-box midfielder, while Marc Roca will finally get a start in the Bundesliga. The Spaniard has looked decent in limited opportunities this season, so this will be a golden opportunity to impress flix.

Next. Bayern Munich’s patience with Leroy Sane will pay off. dark

There is no selection headache in the attacking department. Thomas Muller will slot in the number ten position, while Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for the hosts. Serge Gnabry has been struggling for goals lately, so he may make way for Leroy Sane on the flank. The other wide player for the German Champions will be in-form Kingsley Coman.
