The top five performers from Bayern Munich’s 2-0 victory over Lokomotiv Moscow.
Bayern Munich were victorious on the final matchday of the UEFA Champions League group stage. Die Roten defeated Lokomotiv Moscow 2-0 to remain undefeated in the Champions League. The victory did not have an effect on the final standings in Group A as Bayern had already clinched the top spot in the group and will advance to the round of 16.
Both goals came in the second half of the match as Bayern received goals from two different players. In total, Bayern has had 11 different players score so far during their Champions League campaign. The squad depth was on full display in this match as a few players were rotated into the starting 11. Here are the top five performers from Bayern’s fifth win of the group stage.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting
Without Robert Lewandowski in the starting lineup due to a minor injury, Hansi Flick turned to Choupo-Moting to be a source of goals. The veteran striker stepped up and scored the decisive second goal of the match.
Choupo-Moting was a dangerous threat in front of goal throughout the match as he recorded a total of four shots, two of which were on target. His goal was his third of the season for Bayern in all competitions.

Niklas Sule
The other goalscorer for Bayern in this match was Sule. He used his size and aerial ability to score off a corner kick in the 63rd minute to give Die Roten their first goal of the match. The Bayern defender led the team with three aerial duels won. He also registered three interceptions and two clearances in the clean sheet effort.
Manuel Neuer
Bayern’s star goalkeeper was named to the starting 11 after being rested against Atletico Madrid the week prior on matchday five. Neuer recorded three saves against Lokomotiv Moscow and registered his second clean sheet of the Champions League campaign.
Alphonso Davies
It was a great performance from Davies in his first match for Bayern since returning from the ankle injury he sustained in October. The Canadian left-back completed 11 dribbles and finished with five crosses along with completing 90% of his passes. Hopefully, Davies can continue to make progress in his form as he returns to action for Bayern.
Douglas Costa
Costa took advantage of his appearance in the starting 11 as he contributed to the scoring with an assist on Süle’s goal. The winger generated three key passes and recorded two shots in the victory. Costa’s assist was his second of the 2020/21 campaign for Bayern.
