Does Bayern have the personnel to execute this formation?

The German Champions currently has a strong pool of defenders, so putting out a team that can have three central defenders in the lineup should be a straightforward job for Hansi Flick. Jerome Boateng can operate in the middle, while Niklas Sule and David Alaba can slot on either side of Boateng.

Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard have also played frequently in central defense in their career, so they are also adequate options in these positions. Chris Richards has been getting minutes in the first team this season, so he is also an option in the back three. Javi Martinez can also operate in this setup, making it seven options for three positions.

In the wing-back positions, Pavard and Hernandez once again become options. Pavard played in the right-back position since arriving from VfB Stuttgart. Meanwhile, Hernandez has been getting consistent playing time in the left-back position this season as Flick has been managing the workload of Alphonso Davies. Both French defenders are not exactly attacking full-back,s but they can come up with decent contributions in the final third.

If Flick wants to have more attacking options in the wing-back positions, then he can go for Davies on the left and deploy Kingsley Coman on the other side of the pitch. The likes of Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane could be used as wing-backs if the team is chasing a game. There is no shortage of personnel to execute this formation for Flick.
