Bayern Munich should sort out a loan move for Jann-Fiete Arp in January so that he gets back in form.

Alphonso Davies has been a revelation for Bayern Munich in the past 12 months. The Canadian winger is turned out to be a transfer masterclass after the club broke the MLS record to sign him in 2018. However, every young player joining a club of Die Roten’s stature doesn’t follow the meteoric rise of Davies.

Jann-Fiete Arp joined Bayern in 2019 from Hamburg when he was considered as one of the promising German talents. Things have not gone as expected for the young forward at Die Roten. He struggled with injuries during Niko Kovac‘s time at the club, while Hansi Flick is yet to be impressed with him.

Arp has been largely playing for the reserves team. He was one of the top performers for Hamburg before being heavily linked with a move to Bavaria. The German forward had to wait one more year to secure a move to Bayern, but by that time, his performances had dipped at Hamburg.

At the moment, Arp is playing regularly for the reserves team. However, Arp remains convinced that he is on track to get into the first team. Speaking to Sport1 this week (via SportBild), Arp admitted that playing with reserves is helping him to improve, and he remains determined to make it at Bayern.

"“At the end of the day, with the few games I’ve played in the last year, it is not a wishful placewhere you end up.”“That’s why it’s pretty obvious that this path with the U23 is by far the best for me because I can get used to the club even more and I stay in focus. I always run into players that I would like to work with one day every now and then.”"

More from Bayern Strikes

Arp had rejected a loan move away from the club in 2019 as he was eager to learn from world-class players in training. At that time, Arp was regularly training with the first team. The situation is completely different as he continues to train with reserves and gets playing time with the youth team.

The German forward insisted that he would like to move back to Hamburg later in his career as he is connected to the city. Bayern could do worse than arranging a loan spell for Arp, which will see him joining Hamburg. It will help the player in regaining confidence by moving back into familiar conditions.

If there is no chance of going back to Hamburg, the German Champions still look to get Arp to get some taste of senior football during the second half of the season. A move to a Bundesliga club will be ideal as Arp will take the next step in his development in his home country.

Arp has been unfortunate with injuries since moving to Bavaria. There is still a good player in there, so it is up to the club to get his confidence back through a good loan move. Arp will also have to step up his game to achieve the target of fulfilling his talent in Munich.
