Predicted lineup for Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga game against VfB Stuttgart.

Bayern Munich recovered well this week after a minor blip against Werder Bremen last weekend. The German Champions hosted Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League on Wednesday. It was an end to end game, but Die Roten got the job done by clinching a 3-1 win on the night. Hansi Flick’s men will now turn their attention to an away trip to VfB Stuttgart on Saturday.

Rekordmeister remains top of the Bundesliga table despite dropping points last weekend. However, the gap between Borussia Dortmund and Die Roten is just a point now. There have been many uncharacteristic errors from Flick’s men in the last two games. The German manager is keen to eradicate those mistakes and keep the winning momentum, but which players will exactly help him to achieve that target on Saturday?

Who is fit to play for Bayern against Stuttgart?

Flick remained coy over the fitness of Niklas Sule during the pre-match conference on Friday, but the decision over including him in the squad will be taken later. The German defender was training with the squad after missing the last two games. Corentin Tolisso and Benjamin Pavard are available for selection on Saturday.

There is still no clarity on how long Bouna Sarr will be out as he continued to train alone this week. Lucas Hernandez should be ready to start against VfB Stuttgart after getting few minutes from the bench on Wednesday. The French defender had suffered a minor injury against Werder Bremen last weekend. Joshua Kimmich remains the long-term absentee for Die Roten, while Alphonso Davies continues light training on the grass. The Canadian winger is still a long way from featuring in the matchday squad.

Predicted Starting XI for Bayern Munich against VfB Stuttgart

There is no debate about the goalkeeper in the starting XI. It is a tough time for Alexander Nubel, but he is competing with the best goalkeeper in the world. Manuel Neuer will start against Stuttgart after delivering majestic performances against Werder Bremen and Red Bull Salzburg.

As of now, the defense also picks itself. Sule is unlikely to get a start straightaway even if he passes the late fitness test. Jerome Boateng and David Alaba will form the center-back partnership on Saturday. Pavard will play on the right side of the back four, while Lucas Hernandez will slot in the left-back position.

Marc Roca did well in the midweek game despite the red. The Spaniard will have to bide his time to play week in week out. Flick is likely to bring in Javi Martinez in the midfield after starting him on the bench against RB Salzburg. Martinez will be joined by Leon Goretzka in the midfield pivot as the German international continues to impress in deeper midfield positions.

Kingsley Coman started the last two games, so he is due some rest. Flick has the luxury to start him on the bench and give a start to Leroy Sane. The German winger will play on one flank, while Serge Gnabry will occupy the other side of the attack. Both of them can keep switching flanks throughout the game. Thomas Muller will play in the number ten role, while Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for the German Champions.
